The members of the Up House created this initiative as a way to provide access to a personal computer to people who live with a mental illness and in most of the cases have a low income.
We started in 2013 with the help of members, relatives of members and friends of the Clubhouse who helped spreading out the word about the program and getting donations of computers.
After gathering a few very basic tools and getting a couple of donations of used computer equipment we were granted the title of Microsoft Registered Refurbisher and started our mission.
Only a couple of years after we got started, we have proudly refurbished more than 100 computers, given repairs and upgrades to many members computers and provided one community program with computer equipment that will directly benefit 30 residents of a group home that live with a mental illness. We have also responsabily recycled many hundreds of pieces of computer equipment.
